Compliance and Operations Manager

Neil joined Martin Hirst Financial Consultancy in December 2007 and is responsible for the compliance and managing the Business Support team within the company. Neil therefore ensures that both the company and its advisers adhere to regulations stipulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and that the company runs smoothly and efficiently on a day-to-day basis. He is also fully qualified to give independent financial advice in all aspects of financial planning. Neil has a wealth of experience in financial services after working in the industry for 20 years. After starting as a management trainee at Skipton Building Society, Neil became an independent mortgage broker working with a number of local estate agents. Neil then gained further valuable experience through senior sales and compliance roles with HSBC and the Co-operative Bank. Neil is married to Jo, a head teacher, and has two sons, Tom and James. He is a keen sportsman having recently retired from playing competitive football and cricket to take up golf. Neil also supports Burnley FC and is a coach for local junior cricket and football teams.
